The Goodyear Branch Library, located in the Goodyear Municipal Complex on Van Buren St., opened in January 2014. The library was designed to be a gathering place for community members of all ages. There is a dedicated Children’s Area with age appropriate activities and 4 computers just for kids. Teens also have a space just for them with an area to be with friends, or enjoy something from our selection of teen materials. The library offers 9 public access computers for adults and teens, including a Digital Literacy station with software installed to assist with job searching.
The Goodyear Library is proud to be a part of a unique partnership between the Maricopa County Library District, The City of Goodyear, and the ASU Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group. The new library is part of the Alexandria Co-working Network which strives to provide resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners to help foster innovation through collaboration. The InnovationHub@Goodyear provides community members the opportunity to connect, collaborate and find valuable resources. Pracademic classes from ASU’s Rapid Startup School are offered every Friday morning, and City of Goodyear staff helps match interested community members with mentors from the business community. Entrepreneurs and small business owners can reserve time in the InnovationHub meeting room which is outfitted with a whiteboard and internet connectivity.
The library offers programs for people of all ages in the large Community Room. Applications for adult volunteers can be delivered in person or by email. The library is currently accepting applications for Teen Summer Volunteers.
