Digital Bookmobile at Northwest Regional Library
February 17 (Wednesday) 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Developed inside a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, the nationally touring vehicle is a high-tech update of the traditional bookmobile. The DIGITALBookmobile creates an engaging download experience around
Maricopa County Library District's digital media collection and 'Virtual Branch' download Web site. The vehicle is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players. Interactive computer stations give visitors an opportunity to search the digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks, and audiobooks.

The Northwest Regional Library is located in the Surprise Recreation Complex in the City of Surprise. This 23,000-sq. ft. Regional Library has a collection of over 40,000 items in all formats and offers over 60 Internet-accessible computers throughout the building. It is a model of the latest technology in the library and information field in terms of customer service with self-checkout, self-check in and Smart Library Cards. The facility features a special teen area, magazines, newspapers, a popular Best-seller Browsing section for casual reading, and a comfortable reading area with a gorgeous view of the lake and park included in the recreation complex. Beverages and snacks are also available.
