CheeREADERS

A fun way to help become more confident and more proficient with reading skills. CheeREADERs is a one-on-one reading time between high school cheerleaders and elementary students Kindergarten through grade 3. Registration is needed for a half hour reading session. The CheeREADERs program runs every Monday through December 14. Registration is separate for each session, so register early!

QUEEN CREEK "HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS"

Bring the family to enjoy holiday traditions at the Queen Creek "Hometown Christmas" in the Parks & Recreation Annex of the Queen Creek Branch Library. There is no better way to get into the spirit of the holiday season than to join in the fun at this unique community event. The event features visits with Santa, craft activities, food and craft vendors, and entertainment by local children's dance and choral groups. Queen Creek Hometown Christmas is hosted by Queen Creek Parks and Recreation Special Events, the Queen Creek Branch Library and the Friends of the Library. KNIT HAPPENS

Are you looking for a project to help you earn hours of community service? Please join Knit Happens in the Newsstand. The primary aim of our group is to knit/crochet 8" x 8" squares to make blankets for HIV AIDS orphans in Africa. Earn 2 hours of community service for every usable square you complete! We will teach beginners as well as accept squares from those who already know how to knit or crochet. Meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays monthly.

TEEN BEADING CLUB

Ages 11-18. Make a new beaded piece to keep for yourself or to give as a gift. Materials provided. Community Room.

TEEN VOLUNTEER ROUND-UP

Ages 14-18. Bring your completed Teen Volunteer Application to the Volunteer Round-up where you will meet library staff, receive information about volunteering in the library, and participate in a screening interview. Registration needed.

Ages 12-18. Learn the basics with Red Rohall and create a cool t-shirt! Each participant designs, prepares and prints a one-of-a-kind t-shirt using the silkscreen printing art form.
