Maricopa County Library District serves residents of Maricopa County, Arizona.
The Library District serves unincorporated areas and partners with cities, towns and school districts to run their libraries.
A photo ID and proof of current local address are needed to get a library card. Acceptable forms of photo identification include a Driver's License; Federal, state or tribal identification card; military identification card; university or school identification card; or a passport. If these do not show the current address, also bring a lease agreement, mortgage statement, utility bill, current car registration, voter ID card issued within the last year, property verification via the County Assessor or mail postmarked within 30 days. There is no charge for Maricopa County residents to get a card. Noncounty residents can get a card for $50 annually, $25 for 6 months or $5 per month for a computer-use-only card.

Customers who require help locating, using, or interpreting library materials may call the Maricopa County District's Libraries at 602.652.3000 during regular hours of operation to request assistance from Library staff. The library staff is pleased to assist in speeding checkouts or any other reasonable way to make your visit comfortable. Sign language interpretation is available upon advance notice.

Damaged materials must be paid for at the cost of repair or replacement and any overdue fine, plus a $5.00 Processing Fee.
Lost material must be paid for at replacement cost and any overdue fine, plus a $5.00 Processing Fee. If material is found and returned within 30 days of being paid for, the District will refund the cost of the materials only.
Accumulated unpaid fines and/or fees of $10.00 or more will result in loss of borrowing privileges.
Accumulated unpaid fines/fees of $50.00 or more will be referred for collection. If referred to a collection agency a $15 fee will be applied to your account.
A returned check fee of $25.00 will be assessed, plus any bank charges, and is payable before loan privileges will be extended.

Personal computers are available for customer use in all branch and regional libraries. A library card is required for computer use. All computers have standard word processing and other common programs installed. There is a charge per page for printing.
Wi-Fi is available to the public in the following branches: Aguila Branch, El Mirage Branch, Fairway Branch, Fountain Hills Branch, Gila Bend Branch, Goodyear Branch, Guadelupe Branch, Litchfield Park Branch, North Valley Regional, Northwest Regional, Perry Branch, Queen Creek Branch, Robson Branch, Southeast Regional, Sun City Branch. Wi-Fi also requires a library card.

The library's calendar of events lists all the programs sponsored by the Adult and Youth Service areas at all the District libraries. You may browse programs and events scheduled for this month or search for future events. Some of the events and programs are: story time for children, book discussion groups for Adults, and numerous programs on various topics for all ages. Programs are free but may require registration.
